I still create traditional forms for clients who print them off so they can be filled in manually, but more and more digital forms are being used as there are several advantages apart from the obvious environmental benefits. Instead of paying for print and postage, digital forms can be emailed in seconds, filled in on a computer, Mac or phone and returned the same way. Using Adobe’s “fill and sign” feature, forms can be digitally signed and used for legal purposes.
Another benefit of digital forms is that they can contain hidden complex calculations and be interactive so that when the user changes a value in a particular field/box, the calculations get to work and display the given results, which can be an incredible promotional tool.
